OUR PRODUCT RANGE IN DETAIL
CLEANERS
Deposits on wires and felts, as well as pipes and equipment components of paper and converting machines, lead to longer downtime and often affect the paper quality and productivity. PETROFER offers a variety of cleaners in its FEROCLEAN RFS range to spray on wires and felts and clean highly contaminated equipment. Depending on the degree of dirt and subsequent problems, our cleaners can be used continuously or discontinuously. The product range includes acidic, neutral, alkaline and solvent based cleaners.
CONDITIONERS & STICKY CONTROL FOR WIRES
The overall machine efficiency in the paper industry can be influenced by stickies and pitch. Paper machines that use recycled paper as a fibre source, face tacky deposits with often thermoplastic properties. For those issues, waxes, coating binders, wet strength resins, hot melt adhesives, printing inks and other additives are usually the problem source. The reduction of felt performance, clogged wires and subsequent sheet breaks, holes and spots in the paper can be the consequence. These problems can be solved by the precoating of wires with STICKSTOP, PETROFERs solution for sticky control.
DEFOAMERS
Entrained air and surface foam in the process water pose serious issues in the paper making process. It can affect the efficiency of pumps and cause pinholes in the finished paper. With PETROFERs defoamer series ISOFOAM, we provide unique products to cover all sorts of parameters influencing the capability of deaerating and defoaming.
PICK-UP GLUES
The Pick-up of the paper by the mother and pope reel cores can often fail which leads to web breaks and loss in production. PETROFER offers SPINTAC pick-up glues and corresponding spray equipment for an environmentally friendly and safe roll changes. Our pick-up glues ensure quick activity to provide an efficient tack between sheet and core. The products are designed without any organic solvents. In addition our adhesives do not cause stickies when getting into the repulping process.
BIOCIDES
More and more closed water cycles lead to problems in the paper machine process regarding slime and other odorous and visible microbiological residues. These are especially present in chests and dead zones of pipes. Longer machine downtime for cleaning, sheet breaks and quality issues are the consequence. The FEROCLEAN CS series or local regulated alternatives are PETROFERs aqueous solutions. We are offering a broad-band prevention against bacteria, fungi and algae which is compatible, for example with enzymes.
FIRE RESISTANT HYRAULIC FLUIDS
Our HFC hydraulic fluids are water glycol based with anti-corrosion properties. The highest technological requirements are fulfilled due to the careful selection of raw materials with PETROFERs products with a plus of an outstanding anti-wear behaviour. Due to its specification as a true fire resistant hydraulic fluid, particularly in the foundry industry and other areas where fire hazards exist, ULTRA-SAFE has been successful for many years in providing a safer working environment and replacing mineral oils. In the marine and military sectors, there are quite a few further applications, and this safer technology has uses in the paper industry.
ANTIFREEZE & ANTICORROSION AGENTS
These product types are PETROFERs solution for the protection from frost and corrosion within the storage and testing of hydraulic components like cylinders, pumps and valves as well as the heat transfer in heat exchangers, e. g. for spindle cooling or the cooling of buildings. Additionally, our ULTRA-FREEZE products are demonstrably fire resistant and can be used as test fluids for cylinders, pumps and valves. Water and glycol based, these state-of-the-art additives ensure outstanding corrosion control, are stable against ageing, ready to use and miscible in any ratio with all our ULTRA-SAFE HFC types. All products are free of boron and formaldehyde, long-term stable and formulated without biocides.
APPLICATION EXAMPLES
A leading board manufacturer using reclaimed fiber from kerbside domestic and industrial recycling collections, had considerable issues of fiber build up and slime formation on machine frames and the drying section. Using the PETROFERs range of cleaners and biocides, they were successful in reducing the maintenance time to remove deposits on the machine. This resulted in a safer work area with reduced potential of fire and less contamination to the board from loose debris dropping onto the running process. Additionally, the machine downtime as well as troubleshooting of the customer could be reduced by the use of a continuous application of cleaners. This even resulted in a more sustainable process due to active extension of the wire run time.
