OUR PRODUCT RANGE IN DETAIL
MOULD RELEASE COATING
They are water based, semi-permanent, non-toxic, non-hazardous coatings used as a glass release agent system in mass production environments. These products ensure a smooth start-up, reduced mould wear and improved surface qualities of the final product. Glass container production is a fast moving expensive process and the use of PETROFER Release coatings minimises lost production.
SWABBING LUBRICANTS
Some processes require a universal swabbing lubricant for the blanks, providing a smooth and tenacious graphite film on the glass surface. This film improves the rapid loading of the glass slug, aids distribution and general process efficiency while reducing marks and surface checks.
SHEAR SPRAY LUBRICANTS
The shear spray, often called a “gob shear”, requires consistent and economical lubrication with reduced fire potential. PETROFER’s vegetable oil based shear spray lubricant, which is diluted with water, and so safer, is sprayed onto shear blades to provide cooling and continuous lubrication.
GLASS CUTTING FLUIDS
Following the blowing and forming of components it is often required to cut feeder and mould fill areas of the part. PETROFER has glass cutting products to obtain a good surface quality in this cutting and further processing application. They are formulated with selected base oils and new generation additives, to be safer and more sustainable.
APPLICATION EXAMPLES
A leading glass bottle maker had problems with cutting fluids leaving deposits on the finished bottle such that the end customer was not happy. They approached PETROFER who offered one of our product range recommended for glass cutting applications where post-operative cleaning is not possible. The products superior wetting properties ensured outstanding lubrication, giving a bright surface due to extraordinary evaporating properties and preventing formation of stains and discoloration.
